Hydroseeder for Mine Slope Greening in Southeast Asia
A mining group in Southeast Asia is facing severe problems of slope ecological restoration and greening after the mining operation in the eastern mountainous mining area. The mining area is located in the intertropical zone of tropical mountains, and the slopes formed by mining generally exceed 45, and some hard rock slopes even reach 80. The region is affected by tropical monsoon climate, and there are frequent rainstorms in rainy season. Strong rain erosion makes the exposed mining area slopes prone to soil erosion and slope collapse, and the exposed rock and soil after mining will also cause dust pollution, which not only causes serious safety hazards to the subsequent reclamation operations of the mining area, but also destroys the ecological balance of the surrounding tropical rain forests and causes local ecological environmental problems.
Affected by the extensive restoration scope, rugged and complex terrain and short rainy season construction window in tropical areas, traditional greening methods such as artificial seeding and artificial turf planting have problems such as low construction efficiency, poor adhesion of matrix to rock surface and low seed survival rate, which can not meet the needs of greening management of high and steep slopes in mining areas. The mining group finally selected our company's 15,000-liter large-capacity vehicle-mounted hydroseeder. This equipment can accurately mix and stir grass irrigation seeds, organic substrates, water-retaining agents, binders, soil improvers and other materials into uniform slurry, and realize long-distance and high-lift slope spraying through the high-pressure spraying system, which can achieve uniform coverage of the high and steep slopes scattered in the mining area, ensure the close adhesion of seeds and substrates on smooth rock surfaces, maximize the vegetation germination rate, and avoid local coverage loss and substrate loss from the source. Compared with the traditional manual construction, the sprayer greatly reduces the labor input, and the construction efficiency of a single device is dozens of times that of a manual team, which effectively shortens the construction period and reduces the overall project cost by over 35%. At the same time, the equipment is equipped with off-road special chassis, which can flexibly drive on steep and uneven construction roads in mining areas, and even in the complex terrain of tropical mining areas in Southeast Asia, it can ensure the stability and consistency of spray seeding operations.
Only about two weeks after the completion of the construction, the slope of the mining area showed obvious signs of vegetation germination. After three months of natural growth and simple maintenance, the vegetation coverage rate of the original bare slope of the mining area reached over 98%, which was completely covered by dense native grass-shrub vegetation, forming a stable and anti-erosion ecological protection layer, effectively curbing the soil erosion and dust pollution on the slope, completely eliminating the potential safety hazard of slope collapse, and laying a good foundation for the subsequent reclamation and surrounding ecological restoration of the mining area.
The application of hydroseeder has been proved to be an efficient and reliable means of ecological restoration in the ecological restoration project of tropical mountain mining areas in Southeast Asia. Its ability to quickly cover a large area of slopes, strong adaptability to the complex and steep terrain in tropical mining areas, and cost-effective construction advantages make this equipment an ideal choice for ecological greening treatment of mining slopes in Southeast Asia, and provide a high-quality equipment solution for the coordinated development of local mining and ecological protection.
